What is the difference between an ADHD assessment and a psychoeducational assessment?

An ADHD assessment focuses on concerns related to attention, focus, and executive functioning. A psychoeducational assessment is more comprehensive and looks at cognitive abilities and academic skills in order to identify learning differences.

In some cases, a standalone ADHD assessment is appropriate. A psychoeducational assessment is usually recommended when there are broader concerns related to learning (e.g., learning disabilities, intellectual disabilities, or giftedness). Our psychoeducational assessments include an ADHD assessment.

If you have questions, schedule a free consultation so one of our psychologists can hear your concerns and recommend appropriate services.
